Snoring is not an ordinary sound. It is the audible sign that air does not flow freely at night. Four small adjustments often make a difference.
The position
Whoever sleeps on their back snores more often. Sleeping on your side helps, support your position with a pillow in front and behind. A good pillow made to your neck does much here. It keeps the head in line with the spine, and the airways stay open.
The environment
Ventilate the bedroom regularly and keep the area around the bed free of dust. Less loose textile helps too. A dry bedroom irritates the mucous membranes. A room that is too warm makes breathing restless. Fresh air, a well-made bed, and regularity.
What you do in the evening
Alcohol late in the evening, smoking, excess weight and too little water loosen the tissue and make vibration more likely.
Training the muscles
Train the muscles of the throat too: pronounce the vowels a, e, i, o, u calmly and clearly, slide your tongue along the palate and move your jaw gently from left to right. A few minutes a day. Not as gymnastics, but as a habit.
When to see a doctor
When nothing helps and you notice breathing pauses or extreme drowsiness: consult your doctor. Sleep apnea is a condition that can be treated. We make pillows and duvets. Diagnoses we leave to those trained for it.
