More sick leave every year. One of the causes: the rise in the number of burnouts. What is worrying is the shift in age, from the older generation to those aged 25 to 35.
What burnout is
Burnout is a state of emotional exhaustion: cynicism, loss of confidence in one's own abilities. Chronic psychosocial stress studied for decades.
The link with sleep
Is there a link with poor sleep? Insomnia and burnout sustain each other, a vicious circle. Symptoms: constant fatigue, difficulty falling asleep through agitation, being unable to stay asleep, or sleeping a great deal and still remaining tired.
What to do
Take the time. The first two weeks after the diagnosis, extra rest is the most important thing. If you need to sleep during the day, do so. Not making progress after two weeks? Consult your doctor. This is not a moral matter. It is a physical and mental problem that is treatable, but that asks for treatment.
