A long journey ahead and no bed in sight yet. Then sleep in the train, bus or plane. With these tips it may work after all.
Clothing
Wear comfortable, loose clothing, in layers, with a hoodie. Shoes that slip on and off easily. Bringing a pillow or blanket is possible.
Before departure
Eat something light before departure: not too heavy, not too much sugar or caffeine. Drink enough, but not excessively. Alcohol helps for a moment, but you sleep more restlessly. Herbal tea is a better alternative.
The seat
Choose a window seat if you can, your head leans against the wall. Less chance of a stiff neck.
Dark and quiet
It is never fully dark on the move. An eye mask keeps the light out. Earplugs or calm music do the rest.
