Night work has advantages. But it has drawbacks too, and they touch your health.
1. Plan ahead
Is a night shift scheduled? Adjust your rhythm the day before. Do not sleep too early, do not get up too late. Your biorhythm needs it.
2. Take a power nap just before the shift
15 to 20 minutes, so you do not fall into deep sleep. Or one and a half to 2 hours: one full sleep cycle. Anything in between does not help.
3. Use or avoid daylight
Melatonin is produced in the dark. Wear sunglasses on the way home. Darken your bedroom. Keep out noise too.
4. Relax
Take a bath, read a book, go for a walk. You will sleep all the better for it.
