Bed Linen, Simply Right

Bedding is more than a beautiful finishing touch. It plays a quiet yet important role in your sleep. The right bedding also supports the way your down duvet works: it allows air to circulate, helps move moisture away, and keeps everything comfortable and balanced.

Choose a Fabric that breathes well

A good choice often starts very simply: choose bedding that breathes.

A breathable fabric allows your down duvet to hold enough air, so it stays full and resilient. If a duvet doesn’t get enough air, the down clusters can become flatter. And when airflow is lacking, the night can feel more stuffy and perspiration may increase.

Stay close to Natural Materials

We recommend staying as close to nature as possible. Nature has a lot to offer. Natural materials often behave more calmly: they feel pleasant, absorb moisture, and release it again.

People have often tried to imitate the natural for mass production and mass consumption. But those who respect natural materials tend to find that the original remains the most reliable choice.

Quality is Never just one Number

Beyond the raw material, several factors together determine textile quality. You don’t need to become an expert, but it helps to know that quality isn’t contained in a single label.

  • Thread fineness
In general: the finer the yarn, the more refined the fabric can feel.
  • Thread count (threads per cm²)
Often, more is better—but not always. It depends on the purpose: some people sleep more comfortably under a slightly more open weave that feels fresher.
  • Fibre length
Long fibres typically create a softer, more durable textile. Short fibres tend to pill or fluff more quickly.
  • Moisture absorption
This describes how much moisture a fabric can absorb relative to its own weight. It also influences how fresh bedding feels.

Always look at the Whole

The key point to remember: all of these elements together create a picture of quality. If you rely on just one feature (for example, a high thread count), you may get a distorted impression.

A fabric can score highly on thread count and still start to pill sooner if the yarns are made from short fibres twisted together. It may feel fine at first, but it won’t stay as beautiful over time.

In Closing

You don’t choose bed linen by tables and numbers. You choose it by feel. Take the fabric between your fingers. Let it glide through your hand for a moment. Notice what it does: cool or warm, open or closed, supple or stiff. You’ll recognise the right bed linen immediately.
