Nothing is more annoying than a duvet that does not fit. Too small, and cold air creeps along the edge. Too large, and it gets heavy or awkward. Good sleep begins with a duvet that naturally falls into place.
Width and length
For the width you usually allow twenty to thirty centimetres of overhang on each side. For the length you take your mattress as the starting point. If you are tall or like a roomier sleep, choose a bit of extra length.
How it moves
When you crawl under a well-fitting duvet, it lifts gently. The overhang then settles neatly on the mattress. You stay nicely protected from the room temperature, without the duvet having to hang down to the floor.
An example
A mattress of 160 by 200 cm often calls for a duvet of about 200 by 200 cm. But the ideal size also depends on how you sleep and how your bed is built.
Made to measure
A duvet can be perfectly adapted to your wishes. We work to measure where needed. If the size of your bed changes, a good duvet can also be adjusted again.
Why size brings rest
The right size prevents small unrest. No tugging on the duvet, no cold draught, no fabric dragging on the floor. The bed stays clear and the down keeps room to hold its air.
Not larger than needed
Meer stof of meer vulling is niet automatisch beter. Een te groot donsdeken hangt zwaar naar beneden en kan bovenop het lichaam juist minder luchtig worden. De juiste maat is dus niet maximaal, maar precies genoeg.
What this means for you
A good size makes the night simpler. You do not have to tug, you do not have to search and you do not have to wake from a cold opening. The duvet follows the bed and your movement, while keeping enough air to do its work.
