BUILDING A WATERBED
The waterbed has a very long and rich history. But the waterbed as we know it today was invented somewhere in the middle of the 20th century.
The waterbed consists of a sturdy wooden bed base with, depending on personal preference, 1 or 2 water mattresses. The water mattress itself is a vinyl bag filled with water.
The edge around the water mattress is made up of 2 vertical parts. The lower part consists of a sturdy plastic edge, which supports the waterbed perfectly. The upper part is made of high-quality foam with extremely high dimensional stability, softside. This two-part edge is sufficiently soft for getting in and out of bed, yet provides the necessary support for the water mattress.
